I'm in a similar boat. My mom's family has done some extensive genealogy, back to the revolution. We haven't been able to trace my father's side of the family any farther than his parents.

You never know what you can find... as a matter of fact, I found out last week I had some Jewish ancestors. ME ... the little german lutheran girl.. with Jewish ancestors... who woulda thought.
Seems as if Ma and Howard are famous for keeping secrets from you. You can almost guarantee Howard has told you the story one too many times, but I can't wait it hear it again. I think it would be ok if he told me. Maybe Uncle Jerry can give you some insight too. I 've always wondered why I've not heard more about the Hochaman side.......

Found a Moses (Morris) Hochman and his wife Golda Hecht going from Kolomea to the USA in 1922, they were going to a Daughters a Mrs Adlerstein.
