Mural Almost Done

Carly left yesterday for fabulous Seattle, Wasington, having almost completed the mural. She's going to give me one more day of painting when she comes back, and we'll have a sea turtle (I really wanted a sea turtle).

The mural has exceeded my expectations greatly and I give to you the following:

I couldn't be more pleased. I could get used to this mural stuff - I could do the whole house! I love it.

Viva Las Vegas

fiveofhearts2.jpg
My new favorite card.

Ok, ok. So it's like this. $2 & $5 blind no limit hold 'em. Blinds, two limpers, I'm the button and look down at JJ.

I raise to $20.

Small blind calls, one limper calls.

Flop is K J 9.

Small blind checks, limper checks, I bet $30.

Small blind calls, limper makes it $60.

I think.... I call...

Small blind makes it $830.00.

Limper folds.

I've been playing at the table long enough to know that the small blind can ONLY have Q-10. There is no doubt. None. He can't have QQ or 99. I've got a little over $400.00 left in front of me.

I know I'm drawing if I decide to make the call. I don't have a LOT of money comitted to the pot, but I'm going to get full action on the four hundred something that I have if I call. I've been playing for 3 hours already waiting for a hand like this. Sure, I'd rather be the guy with Q-10 but I'm not. I'm the sucker with JJ.

What the hell. I'm in Las Vegas. I decide to take the shot and call.

Sure enough, he rolls over Q-10. He, obviously by the size of his bet, didn't really want the call. I didn't really want to call either, but whats done is done.

Turn card is the 5 of clubs.

Somehow the Lord saw fit to allow the dealer to peel off the 5 of hearts on the river.

I'm rich.

Seriously!

Sneak Preview

Ya'll didn't think I was serious when I wrote about the Tiki Room upstairs, did ya?

It's been just over a week and it is starting to look quite wonderful. When the door is open, the first thing I see when I wake up is the sun coming up over the ocean. It's quite nice.

We're going to put lots of marine life in the ocean (down the stairs) and add the Moai from Easter Island (I know, Ed, I'm mixing themes), and perhaps the hula girl (perhaps not). I can't wait to see the finished product.
