I know that I was supposed to have started this site as a restaurant review site, and it is actually set up to do that. I can tag each entry: italian, chinese, family, romantic, four-star, cheap, etc. I don't know how I went from that to writing something uninteresting every 3 weeks or so, but it happened and I'm not going to apologize for it. But I think I am going to start doing a regular feature here at eatminneapolis.com. I think I am going to start writing movie reviews.
Now before you all start poo-pooing the idea, I want you to know that I actually have some background here. I have loved the movies for as long as I can remember. There were days back in the 80s and early 90s when I saw as many as 3-4 movies a week. I still try and get out to the theatres as often as possible, and I have an extremely active netflix membership. So I think I know a little bit about the pictures and I think I'd be pretty damn good at reviewing them.
I actually took quite a few cinema classes in college at both Georgia State University and the University of Georgia. I was accepted into the journalism school at UGA. I'm not just some young punk putting fingers to keyboard here. I have credentials.
So. Without further adeiu - I give to you my first-ever eatminneapolis movie review.
A History of Violence
It sucked.

It took two different shades of pink before we were happy, but we finally got it right and brought the table and chairs back. We now have a breakfast nook.
Next up? TIKI theme upstairs in the ... the... the... tiki room. That room at the top of the stairs that I don't know what it is for. I have enlisted the help of a local muralist and we're going to do a big-ass tropical theme - The Easter Island guys, palm trees, Tiki masks, hula-girls, waves, sunshine. We might even do a bamboo ceiling.
I can't wait to get started on this one. Should be a lot of fun.
Countertop I assume will be in by the end of the month, so Winter projects are tiki thing upstairs and building the glass backsplash in the kitchen.
Thought I'd tempt you all with my most recent baking endeavor.
Matthew just produced our fancy new commercial that hopefully will tease the show for the next three weeks. Click here to watch it.
All we have left to do is shoot the news, make the final edits, add in the graphics and we're off and running.
Write/Call/Email your local FOX SPORTS NET affiliate if you're not in New England and DEMAND that they put Pokerbeat on.
I'm in fear of the page going blank and since Michael is busy entertaining his parents, I thought I would put a few pics up by request.
Here
is the picture of the cakes that I made for my uncles wedding. First time trying - hopefully many more to come.
