Working Out.

It sux. I hate it.

Everyone keeps asking me, "Don't you feel better?"

No. I don't feel better.

Everyone asks, "Don't you feel good when you're done?"

Yes - The way your hand feels better when you remove it from the open flame.

I'm going to give this thing the three months that I've promised myself, but I'm damn sure not sold yet.

The Waiting Game

Trip to Los Angeles went quite well, we had a great deal of positive feedback from potential sponsors and from the folks at FoxSportsNet. We met the director of productions who has been extremely helpful at answering our many questions. We've got everything but funding. We're still in negotiations with two key companies for exclusive sponsorship, but no solid news yet. We've got some excellent deals with various properties, but still no production cash. This is the brutal part.

I mean. I say that now.

Actually - If the check arrived tomorrow then it would REALLY be the brutal part because we'd have to begin production. Then that would be the brutal part.

Until we had it all shot.

Then editing it all would be the brutal part. At least until editing it was complete.

Then getting it through Fox legal and the Standards & Practices department would be brutal......

Etc.

Marina Del Rey

Well... I'm tasting the good life right now.

Marina Del Rey. Sitting outside overlooking the beach. Enjoying a fine aged Cuban cigar. And WiFi!

Back home in Minnesota it's -4 degrees and I'm in a tee shirt outside right now.

If this is what the TV business is all about, I'm all for it!

Today we had a FANTASTIC meeting with someone who is very interested in partnering with us and could contribute a significant sum to the production of Pokerbeat

Tomorrow we meet with FoxSportsNet to answer and ask some very important questions.

By the end of the week, we SHOULD find out if all is well and begin production shortly after that.

Exciting times indeed. We've come a long way - and we're SO close.

PokerBeat

This week has enormous potential for me. Tomorrow I'm flying to Los Angeles, then driving to San Diego. Monday & Tuesday we're pitching advertising time to two San Diego area poker rooms and Wednesday at 2:00 PM we're meeting once again with Fox Sports Net.

It looks as if we've secured funding to produce 6 episodes and have a real shot of getting on national television during the 2005 season. I won't say it's a sure thing at this point, but we're as close as we've ever been, that is for certain.

So if you're awake and thinking about it on Wednesday at 2:00 PM West Coast time, say a little prayer for Pokerbeat and cross your fingers or something.

Procedure

I'm finally of the age and condition where in 3 hours I'll be going in for my procedure. As if the procedure itself weren't bad enough, you must prepare for it by abstaining from all food for the entire day before. And just in case that STILL isn't bad enough, you must drink an extremely potent beverage not only the evening before, but also the morning of.

I can't wait until it's over. And then I want pork chops.

Ok. I might can do this.

Today was the 5th and best trip yet to the YMCA. After reading a buncha stuff and upon advice from my many personal trainers (everyone I know that works out except me) I have decided to do the following.

a. 7-10 minutes of warm up (walking briskly on treadmill, etc)
b. 20 minutes of weight training (today was chest and arms)
c. 30 minutes of cardio (treadmill at my target heart rate (145))

That was perfect. It was also the first day when I didn't feel like I was going to die. I think I could have done another 30 minutes but we were there until 10:00 when they closed. Liz did THIRTY MINUTES on the eliptical machine after her weights and stuff. ROCK ON, SISTER!

I did it.

I did it.

Will I do it again?

Yes.

Did I love it?

No.
