Happy Halloweeeeeeen!

Punkins

I leave at 7:00 AM for Las Vegas so I won't get to enjoy the little ghouls and goblins that come trick-or-treating tomorrow night. We carved up a couple o' pumpkins today for the little juniors to enjoy and bought some of the good stuff to hand out.

We got Nerds, Heath Bars, Hershey's Minis, Blow Pops, and Carmel Apple Pops.

I'd make a second round to this house if I were trick-or-treating.

Mind The Gap

Elizabeth is enjoying her 2nd day touring around Europe while I slave away here in the states. I understand that one could easily spend $40.00 on a small pizza and a coke. Here's a link to her photos.

Tomorrow I get to enjoy one of the best parts of my job, I get to give away $50,000.00 of other people's money. Yes, tomorrow is the finals in Canterbury Park's Let-It-Ride poker tournament. It's always a fun time. People get happy when you give them an ass-load of money.

I got good feedback on the Pokerbeat demo today. I've become so familiar with it that I sometimes can't stand to watch it. It's nice to hear good things about it. I sometimes forget that for a few yahoos from Minnesota and one yahoo from Las Vegas, we did take excellent idea and produce a pretty damn good demo. I'm going to keep a positive attitude and try and remain excited about the pitch next week.

Tickets have been purchased - Heading to Las Vegas on October 31st and flying out of Los Angeles on the evening of the 2nd. It's either going to be the shortest and most wonderful flight I've ever taken, or one long &#*@& trip back.

Los Angeles

POKERBEAT demo is complete. We collectively decided that instead of spending the rest of our lives editing and re-editing at infinatum, to call the project complete. Looks like we'll be in Los Angeles pitching it (that's insider media lingo for 'begging') to the execs at Fox Sports.

Either November 2nd or 3rd. NOVEMBER 2nd, 11:00 AM!

Yes - I'll be getting an absentee ballot.

We'll be having a tiny shindig in Las Vegas on the 1st of November for anyone who REALLY REALLY wants to see the demo. C'mon down - I'll save you some spicey bean dip.

I'll Be Back

I've been so damn busy lately - Flying back and forth to Las Vegas, going to conventions, editing the pokerbeat footage - I haven't found the time to keep the blog up to date.

I'm going to try and make time.

We've shot all the footage for Pokerbeat, and should have an edited 'trailer' to show to studio execs within a few weeks. It's going to be a pretty damn good bit, even if we're a bunch of yahoos. After we sell it, I can put a video up on the web for all to enjoy, but until then, it's hush hush.

Tomorrow morning I have a dentist appointment at 9:00 AM (cracked a tooth in 1/2) and then an ass doctor appointment at 4:30. They're getting me from both ends tomorrow.

Howard is healthy and claims to have gained some weight back and is meeting with his oncologist in the morning.

Plenty going on here - I'm hoping to keep everyone updated - but now... I'm going to sleep.

G'night all.

VEGAS, BABY!

Interesting what the popularity of poker has done for this town. Today I got to visit 6 poker rooms - 3 of which I watched close down in the 90s. Seems like everyone is jumping on the poker bandwagon and I must say, it's quite nice to see poker rooms in every hotel.

I made it the first night without going broke. I'll try and keep a running tab of my gambling (shouldn't be much) during this trip. I'm here for G2E so I won't have too much time to play. But so far....

$210.00 - Bally's Poker Room No-Limit Hold 'Em Game
$ 23.00 - Harrah's Poker Room $2-4 Hold 'Em Game
$ 5.00 - Luxor Pai Gow Tiles
$10.00 - Monte Carlo Poker Room $2-4 Game
$68.00 - Alladin Pai Gow Poker
$5.00 - Bally's $2-4 Hold 'Em Game
$10.00 - Bally's Pai Gow Poker
$23.00 - Mirage Pai Gow Tiles
$500.00 - Bellagio Pai Gow Tiles (I don't wanna talk about it).
$96.00 - Bally's $2-4 Hold 'Em Game
$49.00 - Bally's $2-4 Hold 'Em Game.
---------------------------------------------------------
Final Running Total (FRT) = $31.00

It's still pretty sweet out here in the desert.
It sux out here in the desert.

I still have the ability to get a $5000.00 marker downstairs. Luckily, after drinking 100 Red Bulls, I'm crashing hard and am going to hit the sack. Coming home in the morning.

Elizabeth? Kitten? Prepare the mansion. I miss yous.
