Here's the latest. I guess Mr. House Owner can extend closing until December 15th which actually works great for me. I'm going to look at the place tomorrow at 2:00 at which point I'm going to have to make a decision.

You either have a repair budget set aside for contractors or start watching TLC. Even if the floors are hardwood, they might be rotten. I don't think it matters what your neighbors are. This is America. You will never meet them. If you lose your job, you get punkass roomates and runaway kids to pay the mortgage.
